Over the last few years legislation regarding working at height has significantly changed, placing greater onus on clients, managers and owners to be more responsible for the Health and Safety of people working at height on their premises.
The HSE now dictates that any distance where the user is at risk of a slip, trip or fall needs to be protected, whether this be collective or personal protection.
A safe working environment not only requires the user to be protected whilst at height, it also requires the user to have a safe means of access and egress to the working area. This can include fixed ladders, step over units, GRP and walkway.
